Zawadi & Ali

The Story

A ballroom swathed in deep crimson — towering floral columns in red and amber, a sea of candlelight, and a dance floor that seemed to go on forever.

The vision for Zawadi & Ali was one of deep, enveloping drama. Sweeping burgundy fabric draped the entire ceiling, gathered and swaged in heavy, theatrical folds that made the room feel like the inside of a jewel box. Chandeliers hung between the draping, and at every entrance, towering columns of red roses and amber blooms rose from floor level to well above head height. The tables ran in long rows lit entirely by candelabras — hundreds of them — so that the dining room glowed entirely by flame.

The dance floor — a vast expanse of polished white — was the centrepiece, ringed by curved lounge seating in ivory velvet with deep burgundy cushions. The stage at the far end was lined from edge to edge with a dense installation of red, peach and white flowers, with a printed floral motif backdrop rising above it. When the bride stepped onto the floor in her full ballgown and cathedral veil, every candle in the room seemed to hold its breath.
